Low Cost Pet Health Insurance

If you are an
animal lover, you want the best for your pets. When it comes to their
health your pet gets ill. One way to ease the cost is
with Pet Health Insurance. For those who already have pet health
insurance, taking pets to the vet's office without worry certainly helps
ease your mind. They appreciate having pet health insurance. We
all know just how quickly the costs of maintaining a pet add up when
problems happen. Not only do unexpected health problems arise, there
are also the yearly physicals, tests and immunizations that add up in costs.
But the
costs for unexpected injuries or illnesses can easily run into the
hundreds or even thousands for a serious accident.
Let me give you one example how the unexpected came into reality. I have
a black lab who just loves to play fetch. My lab discovered what he thought was a stick. This
stick was covered with yellow jackets trying to make a nest.
Well, he chomped down on it and in a very short time, he had a mouth full of
bees that were stinging him. His face started to swell and you could
hardly see his eyes. He had to be taken to the Pet ER for quick treatment.
He reacted to the venom. After the vet promptly treated him , my lab
had to stay for observation and follow up shots. I'm very thankful for having pet
insurance to ease the cost and worry. Most of us welcome our four legged friends into our family.
Now with pet health insurance, your pet can be covered!
There are many options available to you for pet insurance. Just
like health insurance for people, you can select the coverage that best suits your
needs. Depending on the coverage you select, the cost can vary just like
health insurance policies for humans.
What Does Pet Insurance Cover?
Just like the health insurance you have, different policies will
cover different kinds of treatments and problems. Some have a co-payment and
others have 100% coverage. How much coverage you have will depend
on the degree of protection you desire. If you only want to cover injuries
and medical emergencies, the coverage will be less expensive than if
you want complete coverage. Some policies include well-pet
check-ups and immunizations so your actual monthly cost is much cheaper than
if that is figured into it.
There are policies that will only cover what is called
"serious
catastrophic illnesses", like cancer. There are many new treatments for animals
afflicted with these life threatening illness. These policies can be quite cost effective for
those on a budget and still give you some peace of mind knowing that if
anything major happened, you would be able to have your pet treated and not
put to sleep. I also like the policy that includes the option of
having kennel coverage. If you travel on vacations or visit
friends and relatives, this is a very good deal. This may be an option
that would work for you and your pet.
These policies will also work on the deductible set-up. How much of a
deductible you choose will also affect the cost of the policy.
Do I really need Pet Health Insurance?
If money is not an issue and you don't mind paying out of your pocket when
your pet becomes sick or injured, then the answer is no.
However, if you are
like the most of us, although the health and well-being of your pet is of
the first priority, cost of your pet's care is an issue.
This is when Pet Health Insurance can benefit you and your pet. Pet insurance
is not only for older pets. While it is true older pets are more prone
to some of the aging medical issues, pups have many problems too. One
example are English Bull dogs. This breed is prone to certain
conditions that start to appear when they are puppies. Their eyes are
very delicate and may require surgical procedures. With complete coverage,
the insurance pays for itself
for years to come. So it really does make sense that you get coverage
for your young animals. As a matter of fact, some of the more serious and
costly illnesses that animals are prone to occur when they are very young.
Even if you keep your pet indoors, it does not protect them from illnesses
or injuries. Just ask your vet about all the house pets they treat every
day. Yes, outdoor pets are probably more likely to get injured, but indoor pets
have other problems that they are more likely to get into such as getting
into household poisons and other chemicals. Unfortunately, accidents
do happen. So why not get PET HEALTH INSURANCE?
